iPad Monitoring to Support KCSIE Compliance

Published 29th April 2025

With the rapid increase of digital learning and educational tools being implemented in schools, the necessity to take broader steps to keep children safe has grown alongside it. The days of researching from a book in the confines of the classroom are far behind us with children mere taps away from the vast portal of knowledge available on the internet, as well as everything else it has to offer.

Senso

The updated KCSIE made the understanding and utilising of filtering and monitoring tools a key measure in online safety and safeguarding. This includes appropriate filtering and firewalls on school broadband connections. Interm IT supported schools have the added benefit of the Senso safeguarding and monitoring agent included as part of their Service Desk subscription; this allows DSPs to receive regular safeguarding reporting on all desktops, laptops and Chromebooks connected to their school network.

Senso also has the capabilities to monitor iPads and report by replacing the built-in web browser Safari, with its own managed web browser. It requires children to sign in with their school managed Google or M365 accounts and begins monitoring their web browsing session.

Licensing is available at a cost of £3 per iPad.  For more information, please speak with your Interm IT Consultant.
