There has been a recent incident involving Mixpanel, a third-party analytics provider previously used by OpenAI. While OpenAI’s systems were not breached, some limited account information (name, email, location, browser details) may have been exposed.
What this means for you:
This data could be used in credible-looking phishing or social engineering attacks. Please stay vigilant:
- Be cautious with unexpected emails or links.
- Verify any message claiming to be from OpenAI comes from an official domain.
- OpenAI will never ask for passwords, API keys, or codes via email.
- Enable multi-factor authentication for extra protection.
